about me

Having been born and raised in the Catskill Mountains of New York, exploring the woods, walking barefoot in the grass, and picking wild berries remain nostalgic joys which I miss since transferring to the city as an adult.

During high school I spent a year as an exchange student in Costa Rica, instilling in me a passion for international travel and encounters with different cultures, places, and people.

At Rhode Island School of Design, I discovered the potential of my creativity and the balance (necessary for sanity) between the demands of the profession and other activities.

While working for various architecture firms and non-profits, I gained an appreciation for the social and political dynamics which impact work environments and project outcomes, reaffirming the importance of clear communication and sincere team building.

A year after completing the architectural licensing exams in Pennsylvania, I married and moved to Italy. While learning a new language, working in a different culture, and completing a Masters in Sustainable Architecture, I developed new perspectives and patience.

I later spent a year and a half back on the other side of the Atlantic.  First in Chicago, where I connected with fellow passionate professionals through volunteer work and networking at local organizations.  Then in Monterrey, Mexico, where I learned a lot while teaching two university architecture studio classes for a semester.

After returning to Italy I enjoyed collaborating with old contacts and expanding my professional network through teaching activities and as project manger for complete renovations and interior fit-outs of offices in Milan for international clients.

I then relocated to Spain, where I specialized in the renovation of apartments in the historic center of Madrid for foreign and expat clients. My daughter Frida was born there in 2014 and in 2015 we returned to the USA.

Now I am living in the walkable village of Sleepy Hollow, NY –  busy raising my daughter and son (Tiago, born 2017), renovating our three family home, and managing our rental properties. In addition to this I have new art installation pieces and community improvement ideas that are brewing in my head.

I look forward to future collaborations for new projects with old and new contacts alike, near and far. Please feel free to contact me.
